and crows feet at the side of the eyes. What areas of
the face are not suitable for Botox®?
It is not effective for wrinkles in the middle and lower protions

These as well as other facial wrinkles and scars however can
be treated with Collagen Replacement Therapy also perfomed regularly

How is the procedure done? What is involved?
Botox® is a simple “Walk In - Walk Out” procedure
without requiring any pre-treatments tests.
A relatively painless injection of Botox® is placed into
the affected area, paralysing the underlying muscles. This
relaxation of the muscles causes removal or improvement of
the wrinkles.
Is this a permanent treatment? How long does it last?
The first few treatments usually last 3-4 months and results
may persist for longer with subsequent treatments.
How safe is Botox®? What are the risks involved?
Botox® has been used for many years in medicine and a
high safety record has been demonstrated and established.
Its use for cosmetic reasons is relatively new and the known
associated risks include temporary facial drooping or numbness.
However, no test is required.
Can Botox® be used at any age?
Botox® works best in patients aged 30 - 60 years. It is
less effective in patients in their 60’s and 70’s
because their wrinkles are more likely to be caused by sun
damage skin rather than muscle pull.
How long does Botox® take to work?
The toxin takes three to five days to take effect.
